Trump says he is reviewing Kimberly Guilfoyle's future as U.S. ambassador to Greece

President Donald Trump said his administration is reviewing Kimberly Guilfoyle's position after reports alleged improper conduct. Her lawyers deny wrongdoing, and no dismissal decision has been announced.
President Donald Trump said Monday that his administration is reviewing Kimberly Guilfoyle's future as U.S. ambassador to Greece after a series of reports alleged misconduct before and during her time in Athens.
Asked about the matter outside the White House, Trump said officials were "looking at it" and were "not happy." He did not say that a decision had been made or provide a timetable beyond the review already underway.
The allegations reported in recent weeks include claims that Guilfoyle threatened a Greek official, accepted improper gifts or services, promoted the interests of a Greek energy company and sought money from a Trump donor while offering access to administration officials. These claims remain allegations, not established findings.
Guilfoyle's lawyers, David Schwartz and Jesse Binnall, have denied wrongdoing. They said money she sought from a donor concerned unpaid compensation for public appearances and speaking work completed before her ambassadorial nomination. They also said she requested and followed State Department guidance before traveling on private aircraft.
A U.S. official told the Associated Press that Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were considering Guilfoyle's position and could decide her future this week. MS NOW separately reported that Rubio was deeply unhappy with the situation, although he had defended Guilfoyle's work during a recent visit to Athens.
The State Department's inspector general is looking into the allegations, according to an official cited by the Associated Press. It was not clear whether that review had become a formal investigation. The department has not publicly confirmed an inspector general case.
Senior Democrats on congressional foreign affairs and oversight committees have called for an investigation. Vice President JD Vance said Friday that the reports were accusations and that officials should establish the facts before deciding whether consequences were warranted.
Guilfoyle is a former California prosecutor and television host. She previously had a relationship with Donald Trump Jr. and was confirmed as ambassador to Greece during Trump's second administration.
No removal or resignation had been announced at the time of publication. Guilfoyle remains the U.S. ambassador to Greece unless the White House or State Department says otherwise.
